By the age of 15, Lakshan had made his mark in school tournaments, leading him to join a prominent cricket academy in Colombo.

Lakshan's professional debut was marked by a spectral inning in the domestic circuit, where he gracefully steered his team with an unbeaten century. Primarily a right-hand batsman, his technique exudes a distinctive blend of aggression and finesse. Equipped with the ability to decimate opposition attacks, Lakshan’s rise was meteoric. While his primary weapon was his bat, he surprised many with his prowess as a right-arm fast-medium bowler, creating crucial breakthroughs when needed.
