In the ongoing women’s ODI series between Australia and Bangladesh, Australia’s captain Tahlia McGrath, displaying a streak of luck, won her third toss in a row and opted to bowl first once again at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field. McGrath cited the freshness of the pitch as a key factor in her decision.
The Australian team made a single change for this match, with Phoebe Litchfield sitting out due to a “hip complaint,” according to McGrath. In response, right-arm seamer Nicola Carey was called up to fill the gap. Additionally, Beth Mooney is set to achieve a personal milestone by playing her 100th ODI and will take on the role of opening the innings during Litchfield’s absence.
On the other side, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana expressed a preference for bowling first as well, noting that her team had batted first in the previous matches, posting scores of 166 and 220 for 6. Bangladesh have handed a debut to seam-bowling allrounder Disha Biswas. Sultana explained that Biswas, along with Murshida Khatun and Sultana Khatun, came into the squad at the expense of Nahida Akter, Fargana Hoque and Marufa Akter.
Australia’s lineup for the match: Georgia Voll, Beth Mooney (wk), Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, Ashleigh Gardner, Tahlia McGrath (capt), Georgia Wareham, Nicola Carey, Kim Garth, Alana King, and Megan Schutt.
