Fast bowler Marufa Akter will not be participating in the Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy due to an ankle injury. Her absence has led to the return of opener Shathi Rani and allrounder Jannatul Ferdus to the Bangladesh squad. Additionally, uncapped fast bowler Disha Biswas has been selected. The team will be captained by Nahida Akter, marking her debut as T20I captain following her succession from Nigar Sultana last month. Sultana remains in the 15-member squad, with Sobhana Mostary serving as vice-captain.
Players Sarmin Sultana and Sultana Khatun have not been included in this selection. Rani, with nine T20Is to her name, last represented Bangladesh in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Ferdus has experience in seven ODIs and four T20Is, and she last played for Bangladesh in April 2025. Biswas made her debut for Bangladesh earlier this year during the third ODI against Australia, following noteworthy performances for the Emerging team during their July-August tour of South Africa.
Bangladesh finds itself in Group B alongside Pakistan, Thailand, Netherlands, and Zimbabwe for the 10-team tournament, which will kick off on November 12 in the UAE. Their initial match is scheduled against Pakistan at the Karwan Cricket Ground in Ajman on the opening day.
